Could always talk more about Jeter's house! |
But this years its oddly dull. A-Rod has had himself a good spring training with no issues, Girardi is the manager and will be for a while and the fat toads are long gone. The story lines are basic, baseball stuff something those who have followed the bombers are not use to. While everyone is wanting to watch the Phillies rotation or the Cardinals deal with Albert Pujols and the injury to Adam Wainwright, you could even argue the Yankees aren't even the team that many want to look at during spring training, that would belong to the Red Sox.
But of course their are story lines to the spring, but even those are basic baseball story lines that you can find in any other camp. The biggest is who is the fourth and fifth starter and that is a legit issue, but all the candidates have pitched well so far. The next biggest storyline could be will all the players stay healthy, another issue that comes up on the other 29 clubs.
Of course on March 31st when CC Sabathia throws the first pitch of the season, the baseball world will once again have an eye on the bombers, but until then it will remain a stress free spring in Tampa. But you wont hear anyone on the Yankees complain.
