Cheap tickets to see the Yankees play in a hurricane tomorrow

I was just scanning through Stubhub before and noticed that for tomorrows matinee against the Toronto Blue Jays tickets are selling for as cheap as $0.90 . Their are almost 6,000 tickets available for tomorrows game that are listed for $35 or less.

My first instinct was to call up someone and say lets go to the game but then I realized these tickets are only going for so cheap because of the hurricane that is suppose to hit this area tomorrow right when the game is going on. It's still a great deal if you are able to grab a cheap pair in the legends or champions sections of the stadium that normally run for $350 or more and you get all you can eat food. Another reason it cant hurt is because the Yankees most likely will make the game up some time this weekend as part of a double header. The weather looks great fro Saturday and Sunday so it might not be such a bad investment.

What I may never understand is why people would bother to sell their tickets for that cheap. I know I rather give them away to a friend or family member or just eat the tickets all together. The Yankees have a program that you can donate your tickets to charity or if you don't want to use them you can get a five dollar credit on them.

This season has been awful in general for reselling tickets. Many season ticket holders last year after the Yankees won the World Series bought extra plans they never planned on using to sell. They thought that they would be able to make a profit on the premium games and make a killing come the post season. Well this season many premium games could be had at face value, the postseason is still ahead so maybe they could still make some of their money back. Anyways that got off track, and I plan to write my own post about that soon enough.

So if you don't mind either sitting in the rain or going to a game later in the weekend, go ahead and grab a ticket to see the Yankees face the Blue Jays tomorrow. After all it wont hurt the wallet too much, something rarely said when talking about Yankee tickets.
